FlowHub Integration

This will allow you to commit, compare and update flow data to your own GitHub repository directly from Node-RED. FlowHub.org provides a bridge between textual GitHub representation and visual Node-RED flow creation.

Steps:

  1. Install the FlowHub.org nodes to Node-RED via the palatte manager.

Version 0.5.0 or above is required for token support.

  1. Create an GitHub account if you don’t already have one.

  2. Create a new GitHub repository for storing flows. Repository may either be public or private.

Ensure that that an initial commit is made to the repository, it may not be committless. Creating an initial README creates that commit.

  1. Install the FlowHub.org GitHub application to your GitHub account.

  1. Give the FlowHub.org app access to the repository created in step 2. Best practice is to select a only the repository that you intend to use for FlowHub.org.

  1. Authorise the FlowHub.org app and select the corresponding repository. The app will then have access to updating the selected repository.

After authorisation, a FlowHub.org token will be generated. You will need to add that token to your Node-RED environment or directly to the FlowHub.org nodes.
